Aoji Fuujin comes from the Shinvra clan, which consists primarily of Wind Handlers. There're some Water and Earth here and there as well. The Shinvra are a special type of people who all have a symbiotic relationship with these parasitic creatures similar to tape worms. The worms pass down genetically, so all Shinvra are born with these parasites inside. In exchange for living inside the Shinvra people's bodies, the worms, which extend out of the people's spines, can be used as an extended arm or weapon, depending on how the person wants to use it. The length of the worm is used as a sort of gauge for the power of the person, both physical and magical.

Most Shinvra wrap the extension part of the worms, which have a clothlike texture, around themselves like scarves or sashes. The extensions can also be retracted, but only the worms can do that, and that only happens...during certain moments in a Shinvra's life. *blush cough*

After a Shinvra has..."matured"...the worms inside them start to sprout feathers and resemble wings.
